Elstree & Borehamwood station - the first 156 years

Elstree & Borehamwood station - the first 156 years

In common with most of London's suburbs, the coming of the railway to Elstree and Borehamwood in the Victorian era was the catalyst to urbanisation and the growth of commuting.  In the subsequent century and a half, the station and its usage have evolved to reflect changes in railway technology and human geography.

In this talk, John Cartledge will trace the part the station has played in the growth of the town and the lives of its inhabitants.

Join John in the Holden Room at the Acton Depot on Thursday 27th March at 14:00.
