"Swanage Belle"
Wednesday 25th June
Mike Kay invites Friends on a tour organized by the Association of Travel Trade Clubs (ATTC).
ATTC has reserved seats on this, the first of two steam train tours operated by the Railway Touring Company. Friends will be seated in a dedicated carriage, so that they can travel with other Friends.
Departing from Victoria at 0845, the train will travel through the London suburbs then via Winchester, Southampton, through the New Forest (passing the Lymington branch line at Brockenhurst), Bournemouth Central (watch out for the old viaduct to Bournemouth West), and on to Poole (with views of the Harbour and Brownsea Island), before taking the Swanage branch at Wareham. Look out for the magnificent Corfe Castle on your right.
There will be around three hours for passengers to explore the pleasant seaside resort of Swanage, with its sandy beach and Victorian pier; and to take refreshment in the town’s many restaurants and other catering establishments. (But don’t’ spoil your appetite for the included afternoon tea on the return train trip!). Please state any food allergies or dietary requirements you may have when booking. ATTC will try to accommodate those, in conjunction with the company hosts and catering suppliers, and will explain if any particular requirements cannot be met.
Scheduled return to Victoria is at 22.10.
What is included:
ATTC are offering seats at a table for two at £235.00 per head, strictly first come - first served, and individual seats at tables for four at £195.00 per head.
Payment details to ATTC can be found on the booking form (on-line bank transfer only).
This trip is going to be very popular, so please book with ATTC straight away.
