Friends make many purchases, at auction and private sale, of additional items to enhance and to fill gaps in the Museum's already extensive collections.
These acquisitions cover a wide range of artefacts – large and small - including posters, original artworks, enamel signs, printed publicity material and other ephemera, uniform badges and the like.
In the past, the acquisitions have even included a restored 1930s Leyland Cub bus.
Some examples of the Friends’ recent acquisitions are shown here.
